Analyzing the vibrations of solar modules

This case study presents the analysis results of the spacecraft solar panel vibration simulation. The objective of this analysis was to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of the solar panel under the dynamic forces and vibrations encountered during launch, spaceflight, landing and operation. The structural integrity remains within acceptable limits and no significant performance issues were identified.

Solution approaches

  • Reduce the need for costly physical prototyping and testing, ultimately saving time and resources.
  • Reduction of risks. By simulating different scenarios and failure modes, CAE helps to identify potential problems at an early stage and reduce the risk of failure.
  • Iterative refinement of designs, resulting in more efficient and lighter structures, which is critical to minimizing launch costs and maximizing payload.
  • Check that your equipment meets the strict standards required by the global space industry.
