Innovation Day Rail 2024: Pioneering solutions for rail transport
On 15.05. and 16.05.2024 svt Products GmbH invited to the Innovation Day Rail 2024 to Hamburg. The event offered a unique platform for representatives of the rail industry to discuss current developments and innovative approaches. The focus was particularly on new technologies, materials and concepts that can make rail transportation more efficient, safer and more sustainable.
The first day began with an "Ice Breaking" lunch, which welcomed the participants in a relaxed atmosphere. The welcome address by Thomas Koop, COO of svt Products, and Robert Walendy, Head of Transportation Sales, was followed by exciting presentations by renowned companies. Representatives such as hvv Hamburger Verkehrsverbund GmbH, Mankiewicz Gebr. & Co. and Pyroguard France SARL presented pioneering solutions for sales, coating technologies and fire protection in rail transportation. A joint dinner and a harbor tour rounded off the first day with plenty of opportunity for networking.
TGM Lightweight Solutions: Focus on innovation
The second day of the event focused in particular on our contribution as TGM Lightweight Solutions GmbH together with our partner, the ar engineers GmbH took center stage. Our presentation was met with great interest as it impressively demonstrated how a combination of lightweight construction and weight management can revolutionize rail transport. With our solutions, we are helping to reduce weight and resource consumption without compromising on strength or safety.
Highlights of the second day
In addition to our presentation, other exciting contributions were also part of the program. The DB Regio Idea Train-initiative presented innovative design concepts for regional trains, while HYCONNECT presented new connection technologies that simplify the assembly and maintenance of rail vehicles. A particular highlight was the live fire test, which impressively demonstrated the effectiveness of modern fire protection materials. This practical approach offered participants valuable insights into real-life applications.
The day concluded with a presentation by Dr. Gerhard Murtinger from Siemens Mobility Austria GmbHwho presented the latest research results on fire simulations.
